The Researchers’ Network operates University-wide and its main purpose is to allow staff to benefit from each others experiences of building their research and innovation careers. The Network is run by Champions drawn from across our research and innovation community who are supported by Research and Innovation Services. Champs coordinate our Google+ community page and host a networking lunch each term.

The target audience is staff members that are working to build and progress their research and innovation careers including:

  • post-doctoral fellows
  • research staff
  • lecturers
  • senior lecturers

We also welcome those working in technical roles. Occasionally a few Readers or Professors do attend the Researchers’ Network events in order to support their colleagues and share information and expertise, but our Researchers’ Network runs in parallel to the University’s Professors’ Forum, Readers’ Forum and PGR student community that are designed to support these different groups.

The Researchers’ Network’s Google+ community has over 200 members and the networking lunches have grown in popularity and regularly attract researchers from across each faculty.

To find out more about the Researcher’s Network join us on 12:00pm-13:30pm, Thursday 19 January, SAC 4.09 (Grad School Entrance) for our first networking event of 2017 (UoP staff only) (https://network01-1617.eventbrite.co.uk).

Please email ris@port.ac.uk if you would like to know more about the network, or would like information on how to join the Google+ group.
