- NEW OPPORTUNITY: APPLY FOR A POLICY FELLOWSHIP
Apply for a UKRI Policy Fellowship in UK Parliament (Deadline for applications, 8 September 2025). UK Parliament has launched their new set of fellowships through the Policy Internships scheme, funded by UKRI. The scheme provides the opportunity for doctoral students funded by the research councils of UKRI (including AHRC) to work for three months within a host policy organisation, such as UK Parliament. Applicants specify their preferred host organisation when they apply for the internship. The role is part-time and remunerated by a daily fee of £375. - NEW CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Contribute evidence to a select committee inquiry into: Sub judice resolution in the House of Commons, Procedure Committee (Deadline to submit evidence: 31 July 2025). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute evidence on how Parliament governs itself with relation to preserving “comity” between the courts and the House, to avoid Parliament influencing, or appearing to attempt to influence, the outcome of court proceedings, and to avoid Parliament acting as an alternative forum for resolution of matters that are before the courts. This inquiry will look at whether the current resolution, agreed by the House of Commons in 2001, continues to strike the appropriate balance. Relevant expertise from lawyers in this area might help the committee’s scrutiny work.
