As things slow down a little over the summer, it’s the perfect time to give your Pure profile a refresh ahead of the annual PDR (Performance and Development Review). Keeping your profile up to date not only supports internal reporting but also ensures your work is visible and celebrated across the university and beyond.
Whether you’ve published a paper, given a talk, reviewed a journal article, led a project, received a prize, or contributed to press and media, now’s the time to make sure it’s all captured in Pure.
Top Tips to Make Your Pure Profile Shine
Polish Your Profile
- Update your biography and research interests. A clear, engaging profile helps others understand your work and can lead to new collaborations.
- Upload a professional profile picture if you haven’t already. It adds a polished, approachable touch and helps present your profile more professionally to external audiences.
Check Your Publications
- Make sure all your recent publications are listed and correctly linked to your profile.
- If anything’s missing, check the guidance on how to upload research outputs.
Update Your Activities
- Include external engagements such as conference presentations, peer reviews, editorial work, examiner roles, and memberships in the Activities section. They all count!
- Don’t forget to add recognitions and awards, big or small, in the Prizes section.
- Check this overview to see what activities and prizes you can add.
Add Media Appearances
Highlight your media contributions and coverage in the Press/Media section to demonstrate your public engagement and the impact of your work.
Capture Your Projects
- Add any research or innovation projects (funded or non-funded) to the Projects section.
- This not only highlights the scope and funding of your work but also connects your research to related outputs, helping to tell a richer, more complete story of your academic journey.
Link It All Together
- Link related content together to present a coherent narrative and demonstrate the depth and breadth of your work.
- Remember to link your funding records to a project so your audience can see your funding on the portal.
