Research and Innovation Services, Business Engagement Team
As a research active institution with world leading research and a reputation for delivering commercial solutions to the business community, we need to maintain this well earned reputation and continue to build on our past successes.
Based within the Research and Innovation Services team at UoP you can find the Business Engagement Team, made up of a number of faculty aligned Collaboration Managers who collectively work towards building on this reputation by proactively seeking out businesses and academics to work collaboratively, to solve a range of society’s and industry’s problems.
Collaboration Managers look to achieve this by brokering relationships between academics, and external businesses and organisations, developing partnerships, and removing historical scenarios of silo working mentalities from all parties. By combining an understanding of both academic and business environments, and actively promoting the University’s fields of expertise to external organisations we can look to find new and innovative ways to solve real time problems. Through applied creative insight, industrial partner expertise and knowledge, and a joined up approach to problem resolution we can work to collectively produce both market leading research and new areas of innovation that can lead towards truly beneficial products and results, for both industry and society.
If you are looking at ways to develop and grow research and innovation opportunities within your faculty, or if you are an external business or organisation that needs specific expertise to help you overcome a critical growth hurdle then we may be able to help. Working alongside you and other members of the RIS team we can look to help identify funding, support associated bid writing in areas that include applied and collaborative research and innovation projects, promote and provide access to facilities, and help identify opportunities for consultancy and CPD.
