As a researcher in a science-based subject, publishing your work in peer reviewed journals remains the primary means through which you build your track record and get credit for all those hours you have spent formulating hypotheses and collecting data in the lab or field. Writing up your work in a way that gives it the strongest chance of getting accepted into the best possible journal and attract citations makes sense, because it will help you build your reputation and progress your career.

On Wednesday October 19 UoP science and technology researchers have an opportunity to work with Dr Anna Sharman from the scientific editing and training consultancy Cofactor. At the workshop you can work with Anna to produce an informative and engaging abstract for your journal article or conference paper. Anna will also help you to develop a writing style that is clear and concise with the right level of formality for a research paper. The workshop will also help you find the right journal, navigate the peer review process and publicise your paper on social media. If you’re thinking of publishing your research, can you afford not to attend?
