RISSNet are delighted to welcome the AUA and the SSA to talk to us about the services and opportunities provided by their networks.
Our first guest speaker is Becky Miles, Business Development Officer and Chair of the Support Staff Association since April 2017.
The Support Staff Association (SSA) is the body that represents all University support staff and in doing so provides them with a voice across the University by representing their interests on a variety of sub-committees and groups. It also provides a means whereby support staff can express their views and opinions to the Board of Governors, Academic Council and the Vice-Chancellor. The SSA also aims to help promote and foster a spirit of cooperation between its members.
Our second speaker is Nikki Sowerby, Principal Administrator (Quality Assurance) from the Department of Student & Academic Administration and AUA Deputy South Region Network Coordinator & AUA Branch Advocate (UoP).
The Association of University Administrators (AUA) is the professional body for managers and administrators working in HE in the UK and Ireland. It aims to promote excellence in HE management and administration and to raise the profile of those roles in HE as a profession through the development of best practice and high standards in the area.
