University of Portsmouth Research and Innovation Staff Development
Workplace satisfaction and productivity can be greatly increased with an assertive approach to situations and other people. You may not be able to control every situation, but you can (with practice) change your behaviour, and that can have a positive influence on the responses of others.
This workshop takes you through the spectrum of behaviours: passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive, with the focus on how our responses arise, and how we might find a better balance and respect for the needs of ourselves and others.
A variety of strategies are discussed and practiced, so that you can find the techniques that work best for you in a number of work and personal situations. This workshop is conducted in a safe and confidential environment.
