The Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and the National Cyber Security Centre have produced some guidance for academics (Trusted Research) and industry (thinking securely about your business) aimed at raising awareness of risks associated with working internationally.

Protecting your research is important for a variety of reasons, with applied research being particularly at risk.  Joint research is vulnerable to misuse by organisations and institutions that operate in nations whose democratic and ethical values are different from our own.

The guidance below has been written to help researchers think about how to protect their research, and which areas are particularly vulnerable.
