Our ability to access European funding for research and innovation has been a big topic of concern recently. Although the UK Government guarantee to fund the UK components of ongoing and newly awarded projects has been welcome and reassuring; it will be nice to have clarity on our future relationship with this important stream of funding.

If this is an area of interest to you, please ‘save the date’ for Thursday 19th March as we will be hosting a visit from the UK Research Office (UKRO), based in Brussels.

Our European Advisor, Malgorzata Czerwiec, will be presenting information on the funding available. The agenda is still under consideration and will be firmed up in February. Watch this space for further information.

In the meantime, if you would like to keep up to date and find out the current state-of-play –  the UKRO website has a wealth of articles and factsheets available to all at University of Portsmouth (just register with your university email address to access restricted content).

On a related note, if University of Portsmouth staff would like to know more about funding streams, from UK-based funders, for international collaboration then this workshop in our Research and Innovation Staff Development Programme may be of interest. It is most suitable for active researchers who are new to international collaboration.
