It has been confirmed, as the withdrawal agreement had been concluded, that we can continue to access European funding programmes – for the details, please see the up-to-date ‘Brexit Factsheet’ on the UK Research Office (UKRO) website.
We will have the opportunity to hear about this in more detail from our UKRO European Advisor, Malgorzata Czerwiec, when she visits the University of Portsmouth on Thursday 19th March.
In the morning there will be a session for all University of Portsmouth staff – book your place using the link below. This is your opportunity to get some clarification on our continued engagement in Horizon 2020, hear about the current state-of-play in regards to its successor programme, Horizon Europe, and find out about opportunities to become an evaluator. We will also get an overview of the remaining calls in this final year of the Horizon 2020 programme along with some tips on what it takes to be successful.
In the afternoon, the Professors Forum and the Readers Forum will have a joint session with Malgorzata Czerwiec. This session will include time for questions enabling our senior academic staff to get some clarity and guidance on aspects of utmost relevance and importance.

I would encourage all those who wish to stay up-to-date on the latest developments to sign up for the UKRO email alerts – and anyone unable to attend the sessions above to see the informative and excellent factsheets developed and updated by UKRO in the ‘Resources’ section of their website – you’ll need to be signed in to access this restricted content and update your email preferences. If you’re not already registered, use your university email address when setting up your account (as this access is part of our current subscription).
