The Researchers’ Network and Research Staff Forum will be running a series of online events with tips and tricks for researchers at the University of Portsmouth. The events aim to bring together the researcher community and share practical advice on a range of topics, including:
- Bid preparation and how to get your first grants
- Promotion and career planning
- Work-life balance
- Rights and responsibilities as a researcher
- Increasing your visibility (both online and offline)
as well as a run through of vital information every researcher at the university needs during their induction. The fortnightly events are planned to take place on Tuesdays, at 2pm, on 2 February, 16 February, 2 March, 16 March, 30 March and 13 April.
The first event on work-life balance will be held on 02 February 2021, 2-2.50pm. Sign up to the event on Eventbrite and join us:
The idea of the Research Staff Forum (RSF) and the Researchers’ Network (RN) is to create opportunities for researchers across the university to meet, network and support personal development. The RSF and RN also represent research staff on the University’s Researcher Development Group, which reports directly to URIC (the University Research and Innovation Committee).
More information on the networks, including contact details, can be found on their intranet pages.
