Now in its 14th year, International Open Access Week runs from 25-31 October this year.
The Open Access Week website contains details of numerous events running worldwide. In addition, many other organisations are running events on the theme of Open Access and these can be found by searching for #OAWeek2021 on Twitter.
In the meantime, or at any time, please contact the University of Portsmouth’s Research Outputs team for any information or guidance you might need. We can help you with –
Open access publishing: OA publishing, REF compliance, finding OA research, practice-based research portfolios, APC funding (gold OA) including discounts available, identifying (and avoiding!) predatory journals. Contact us at openaccess@port.ac.uk
Research data: writing data management plans, data storage, archiving and sharing, publishing and promoting data, licencing and copyright, re-using other people’s data, GDPR and ethical considerations. Contact us at researchdata@port.ac.uk
And many other things, including: getting your ORCID, choosing which journal to publish in, understanding the publishing process, finding full-text PhD theses, Altmetrics (how research has been shared on social media, mainstream news, etc), bibliometrics, using (and discovering) research metrics, promoting your research to the wider world, developments in scholarly publishing.
