Springer Nature journals are highly regarded and influential; it is quite understandable that researchers seek to publish in them. However, the APC costs are often prohibitive and funds are limited. Now for the good news…..Springer Nature is guaranteeing a compliant route to publication for UKRI-funded corresponding authors submitting to Nature and Palgrave Macmillan hybrid and Transformative journals until 31st December 2022.

This means that researchers have the ability to self-archive author accepted manuscripts (AAM) under CC-BY terms without charge. By requesting a UKRI exceptional publishing agreement from the journal upon editorial acceptance of the research article, authors will be able to permanently deposit the AAM in their funder or institutional repository for immediate release under a CC BY licence upon publication of the version of record (VoR).
