HIDA-7 – Life/Defect Assessment & Failures in High Temperature Industrial Structures
The University of Portsmouth will be hosting a 3-day International Conference, HIDA-7, on the 15-17th May. Since the first HIDA Conference 19 years ago, there have been conferences all over the world including Stuttgart, Lisbon, Cambridge, Surrey and Nagasaki. These conferences have covered a range of topics around defect assessment procedures including: Materials behaviour at low and high temperature, failures, defect and life assessments, fitness-for-service and Risk Based Management.
The HIDA conferences aim to make a positive contribution towards the international standards/codes on damage and life assessment of engineering materials and components. HIDA-7 aims to include the technologies, methodologies and applications of the damage/life assessment to both the low and high temperature industry sectors and diverse engineering sectors such as power and process plant, maritime/naval, automotive and aerospace sectors.
