Interdisciplinary and cross-faculty

This Health and Wellbeing Theme event is open to all University of Portsmouth staff across all faculties and disciplines with an interest in Wellbeing. Professor Gordon Blunn and Dr Karen Pilkington will be hosting this event, which aims to generate interest and identify potential for future research projects that are interdisciplinary and cross-faculty.

Topics summary

A series of talks will take place delivered by experts in their fields. These include, but are not limited to:

Global Wellbeing

Mental Health in Childhood and Education

Women’s Wellbeing

Physical Wellbeing

More talks will be confirmed at a later date.

Date and Time

The event will take place on Tuesday 24th April 10:00-14:00 in Buckingham building Room 3.05. You can book your place for The Wellbeing Event on Eventbirite.

Structure of the day overview

Members of the Research Design Service and the Research Development Officers from Research and Innovation Services will be present to provide support and guidance with queries about applications and funding.

This will be followed by a breakout session which attendees will be assigned to by Prof Blunn and Dr Pilkington according to responses to a questionnaire to be completed prior to the event and submitted by Tuesday 17th April 2018.

Prizes will be awarded for the best ideas and there will be an opportunity to network following the breakout sessions.

After the event

Those who submit promising ideas will be invited to a follow-up session to be announced following the event.
