One week to submit expressions of interest
The Themes team would like to remind you that the Expressions of Interest for the 2018/19 Themes Research and Innovation fund are open for one more week, with the deadline for submission on Thursday 18th October at 4pm. There will be two schemes running in parallel:
TRIF challenge led project awards
Support collaborative, cross-disciplinary and cross-faculty projects with a particular emphasis on a trajectory towards capturing external funding. Projects could run from 3-4 months to a maximum of 18 months. Typically, these will be led by early-mid career academics with Readers and Professors as co-investigators.
TRIF Strategic Fellows
Support individual academics, typically at the earlier stages of their academic career, to develop their own capacity, skills and networks for interdisciplinary working over an 18 month period. The awardees will be required to participate in a range of cohort based activities as well as their own planned work supported through the award.
Who can apply?
Academic staff are eligible to apply although technical and contract staff may be involved in projects. The balance of awards across the two schemes will depend on the quality of applications received. Teaching buy-out will not be an eligible cost, so it is important that your applications have the support of your line manager, and that the planned work can be accommodated within your agreed workload.
For collaborative projects with partners (non-academic/academic) outside of UoP it is expected that those partners will make a contribution to the project commensurate with their role, the relative benefits and the UoP award value.
